Green Tot Sensory Basket

It is time for a new sensory basket for my little one. I change out the tot sensory basket faster then the older kiddos sensory bin because the attention span is so short. I am going back to work on colors. I loved the letter B and fully plan to continue with the alphabet when "B" is older. Honesty, he doesn't need to know that concept quite yet. I think I will focus on shapes and colors. The red basket was a huge hit so I thought I would try green. I tried something new so I hope you like it (I am still on the fence).

The Basket:

The Items:
Shapes: cookie cutters, plastic bendable bracelet, ring, and tubberware lid
Bow & Beads (from last basket), cardboard lacing card, and wooden beads strung onto a pipecleaner
Things that go: metal tractor, hard plastic truck, train, boat, soft plastic garbage truck, and wind-up dino (he loves it)
Trees: Felt and plastic. The palms rotate so that is fun
Blocks: Wood and Plastic
Stuffed frog, teether, plastic horse, Mr. Potato head hat, and binkey
Noise Makers: whistle, ball snapper, snake that rotates, and a pretend level (makes a rattle sound)
Sensory bag: shaving cream and food dye (taped shut) I put green confetti items as a search and find option. Not sure if I like this or not. We will see! Definitely provides a different texture than he is use to.
Playtime:
Wooden beads were his favorite
Exploring the sensory bag
Trying to figure out how the beads got into the level (see brother on his head in the back ;0)
Obviously the train needs to go on the garbage truck
Ball snapper being used as yet another oral toy.

Letter B Tot Sensory Basket

As I mentioned in my last sensory basket post I was running out of ideas. Many really liked the red basket and suggest I do the other colors. I would love to continue on with that but I don't have a lot of baby proof items in other colors at the moment-except possibly blue (possible idea for the next one). Scouring the blog world I found baskets with letters of the alphabet theme. Why didn't I think of this? I struggled with starting with A but decided to go with B since that is what my tot's (well actually 10 1/2 months old) begins with. This sensory basket is chalked full of goodies. Once I started finding things that begin with B I couldn't stop!!!
The B basket it all its glory!
The B items are:
I took a large picture of "B" and put it in a page protector with a piece of cardboard behind it so it won't bend.
On the other side is a pic of the two brothers. Each one I put a foam B on the outside and taped the sleeve shut.
Felt Barn & Boy, Wooden Bird, Large Letter B, B Block, Boat, Blue Bootie, Binky, Rattle with Bells, & Plastic Bead Ring
Glass jar with buttons and wooden letter b (good for rattling)
Board Book, Bag with a Bow, Gift Bow, Brush, and Foam Brush (one of his fave toys)
Large letter B puzzle piece w/ bear on it, teddy bear, baby bear figurine, and sponge bear
Blue ring and circle, blue block, and blue sensory bottle (from nature basket)
Box with stackable blocks, two balls, and a badge
Mardi Gras Beads (so far his favorite) and a bag of beans and a magnet letter B (taped shut of course)

I told you this basket was a little over the top. The letter idea is so clever and now I think I have ideas ranging from ABC's, Shapes, and Colors to last me a little while. I am curious what others do with their children who are under 18 months old?

Circle Tot Sensory Basket

My newest sensory basket for baby was directed by none other than "B" himself. He found a tennis ball and was having fun playing, so I thought I should do a whole basket of balls and other circular shapes. It seems to be a big hit! I had a happy mommy moment when I saw him tracing the circle shape of a wheel with his finger.

The Basket:
What I Included:
Balls with different textures (also added a small cloth one and a beach ball)
Different Lids
Tambourine and CD (odd sensory items)
Kitchen Items (Measuring Cups and Soda Lids)
Circular toys
Water bottle with poms and a glass baby food jar with wooded beads (baby loved so much couldn't get pic alone)
